About The Artwork
this painting was made after my friend Romina, which is also an artist. I met her at Flamenco dancing classes when I lived in CDMX around 2015. She later moved to Sweden with a Swedish guy. I was not happy with that nor with the painting so in 2020 I decided to edit. This painting was originally done in acrylics and so I varnished it and painting on top with oils. the lizard is new. and the suitcase. cause she left.

I am interested in experimenting with sincretic images that capture the whole range of religious experiences. I am inspired by the architecture and mural paintings of the Aztecs, Mayan, Zapotecan and other peoples from America and I like to intersect them with the aesthetics brought to America by the Spanish, like virgins, saints and holy beings. I intersect them with a third paradigm which is my personal journey into Indian philosophies and the idea of enlightenment. The result shows where I am now, believing that art is the way, and being an artist is my religion.
