ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I love painting women at the beach because it gives me the opportunity to portray the female form. Here three women, perhaps the Three Graces or Muses are preparing to leave the beach as the waves kick up. The center woman calmly folds her towel, another does her hair and the third looks upward toward the birds. I admire Matisse and Picasso and try to create my own vision while respecting their art.
