TRIPTYCH: THE TURNBERRY I, II and III 3 Canvases 150 x 70 cm "THE TURNBERRY I" Original Artwork Acrylic on Canvas 50 x 70 cm The first canvas of this triptych depicts three golf balls floating on the water, which symbolises Trump Turnberry - an empty golf resort located on the coast in southwestern Scotland owned by Donald Trump. In December 2015 the R&A announced that the 2020 Open Championship would not be played at The Turnberry, because of a controversial comments made by Trump. On the other hand, strong winds forecast throughout the year because of unsuitable location for a golf club. "THE TURNBERRY II" Original Artwork Acrylic on Canvas 50 x 70 cm The second canvas depicts a piece of steak sliding from the swimming pool kerb, which refers to the "Trump Steaks" - a brand owned by Donald Trump that launched in 2007. Prices of the four packages of steaks varied from $199 to $999. The product was pulled from shelves after just two months of abysmal sales. Trump Stakes is just one example out of 16 unsuccessful business ventures. Perhaps, the myth and the reality of Trump’s business empire is a blend of dark fairy tales. "THE TURNBERRY III" Original Artwork Acrylic on Canvas 50 x 70 cm The third artwork depicts two empty water bottles discarded in a swimming pool, which refer to the "Trump Ice" - a bottled water brand owned by Trump. Attempts to distribute it widely failed after a few months. The dark background represents a nighttime linked with restless dream state. Weeds surrounding the kerb of the swimming pool suggest that the place is overlooked, perhaps abundant. The position of the 'symbolic object' is unstable, sinking and floating on the water, which refers to an uncertain future of democracy.
