In this and in three other triptychs, I painted images from a dream as if they were still photos from a film and shown out of sequence, but still suggesting an underlying unity. In this case, the color red, two figures, masks, a beach and mounted figures are the unifying elements.

I paint oils and watercolors in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California. The images in my paintings come from two worlds: Daylight—the life we experience when we are awake, and Nightlight—the lives we live when we are asleep. What I try to paint cannot be seen, so distinguishing between the two worlds is a matter of only minor importance.
