This original, handmade, vibrant and unique creation is painted with professional acrylic paint and Windsor oil worked with a pallet knife, brushes and acrylic markers on gallery canvas. Stretched on a wooden frame (4cm wide). No need for framing, the sides are painted, so you will receive it ready to hang. A certification of authenticity signed by me and the gallery I work with is provided and will be sent with the painting. This artwork is signed and dated on the back. This artwork is inspired by the poem The Conference of the Birds. A 12th-century mystical epic written by the Persian poet Farid ud-Din Attar. In this series, I was inspired by the 7 valleys described in the poem: the valley of search, the valley of love, the valley of knowledge, the valley of detachment, the valley of unification, the valley of wonder and finally the valley of privation and annihilation. This poem is an allegory, in which the search for symbolism represents the search for divine perfection. In the poem, the birds of the world gather to decide who will be their king, as they have none. The hoopoe, the wisest of them all, suggests that they should find the legendary Simorgh. The hoopoe leads the birds, each of whom represents a human fault which prevents humankind from attaining enlightenment. The birds must cross seven valleys before reaching the Simurgh. These valleys symbolize the stages that a Sufi must cross to draw the true nature of God. During the journey, lots of birds die. Finally, the thirty remaining birds approach the place where the Simurgh lives. All they see is their own reflected image like in a mirror. In the end, the birds learn that they themselves are the Simorgh; the name “Simorgh” in Persian means thirty (si) birds (morgh). They eventually come to understand that the majesty of that Beloved is like the sun that can be seen reflected in a mirror. Yet, whoever looks into that mirror will also behold his or her own image. The choice of birds as protagonists is not casual; they represent the terrestrial animal that can rise up to the sky, as the man’s soul is able to rise from the Earth towards the divine. ----------------------- Quest'originale opera è stata pubblicata e archiviata nel Catalogo D'Arte Moderna (CAM) 54, 2018. La serie “Il verbo degli uccelli” è ispirata all’omonimo poema dello scrittore persiano Attar. I dipinti di questa serie sono firmati e presentano la data dietro il quadro. Inoltre insieme al dipinto sarà spedito il certificato di autenticità firmato da me e dalla galleria per la quale lavoro. In questa serie mi sono soffermata sulle sette valli descritte nel poema: la valle della ricerca, dell’amore, della conoscenza, dell’indipendenza (o perdita), dell’unità, dello stupore e della povertà (o annientamento). Il verbo degli uccelli è un libro sapienziale dove l’allegoria del viaggio degli uccelli lascia trasparire e a volte emergere l’intento didascalico. Tutti gli uccelli del mondo si radunano per decidere chi sarà il loro re. L'upupa, il più saggio, li convince ad intraprendere la ricerca del leggendario Simurgh, un uccello della mitologia persiana che corrisponde all'incirca alla Fenice della mitologia occidentale. Finalmente partono, ma solo trenta su centomila riescono ad arrivare a destinazione dopo aver attraversato le sette valli lungo cui si incontra la mistica via. Al loro arrivo, gli uccelli vedono soltanto la loro immagine riflessa. Una rappresentazione simbolica degli stadi attraverso cui l’anima, con costante progressione, attinge la perfezione divina. Simurgh (in Persiano significa "trenta uccelli") è in realtà lo specchio di quegli eletti che giungono alla sua corte. La scelta degli uccelli come animali protagonisti non è casuale; essi rappresentano l’animale terrestre che può sollevarsi fino al cielo, così come l’anima dell’uomo è in grado di innalzarsi dalla Terra verso il divino. Il viaggio è la grande metafora del sentiero spirituale, che non è mai retto e semplice ma sempre lungo, tortuoso, ricco di insidie, che soltanto pochi alacri viaggiatori riescono a percorrere senza smarrirsi.

Persian/Canadian Painter born in Tehran, currently living in Florence, Italy. I am the link to Persian tradition in a completely contemporary way. I want to preserve its lyrical depth and introspective ability. I consider the artistic research an introspective analysis. When I paint figures come to the surface as from a mystic vision. Beauty reveals itself in symbolic shapes. They find a place on the canvas and remind the viewer about the importance of feelings.
