This form of paintings are done behind the main deity of the Nathwada temple, 'Srinath ji'. Literal meaning of 'Pichwai', is 'Pich' meaning background and 'Wai' means hanging. The main subject of Pichwai painting is Lotus, cow and the other elements related to Sri Krishna. This painting is Varnished to protect it from dust and UV ray.
