The characters in my portraits freeze in an instant, trying to grasp the elusive reality. I try to depict the flow of thoughts and sensations with the help of abstractions, patterns, inscriptions. I want to fix the state of the psyche at the moment when a person in the stream of time asks the question: where am I going, what is the past, what is the future, what is happening right now?
