“The geisha and the butterflies” Painting

Katerina PapaTegou is an Athens - Paris based artist who works mainly in mixed media art. A principal theme in PapaTegou’ s work is the nature of the face and she is also concerned with issues surrounding the threat of climate change, birth deficit and human rights. “Art for me can function as a call to action and a reason to rethink our relationship with nature and the consequences of our actions.” Painting for PapaTegou has a form of freedom, without compatible limits. She dares to move from portraits and figurative language to abstract works, looking for new ways of expression. Katerina PapaTegou’s work has been shown internationally in many exhibitions and art fairs in many countries such as Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain and USA. Painting for her is a great journey. Her works reflect her passion for colours and artist’s enthusiasm for travelling around the world and discovering new places and cultures.
