About The Artwork

Only he who reaches the limits of thought in his spiritual struggle will be able to dare the leap into the great void. This is the leap into the infinite - into the immeasurable Essence of the divine Being. If you rid yourself of your conceptual thinking in this way, then your true Self will manifest itself to you in all its splendor and you will have returned to the source of all being.

My name is Zensho W. Kopp. I was born in 1938 and I am an authorised Zen master, artist and author. For over thirty years now I have been in charge of the Zen Center Tao Chan in Wiesbaden, Germany. From a young age, I became very interesting in Asian wisdom teachings and began an extensive study of the scriptures of Zen Buddhism, Taoism and West-Eastern spirituality. The richness of inner life which I experienced through meditation and contemplation became a profound inspiration for my art. Since then, it has been the focus of my painting to fathom the innermost core of things and to express them in a free-flowing way.
