What a beautiful time it was, our childhood. Playing in the water, with my little brother and sister....no sorrow. Some parts of this canvas have been covered with parts of a rougher kind of canvas before I started the painting. It gives this artwork a special dimension.

I was born in Ghent in Flanders, Belgium. Currently I live in Wezemaal, a small village nearby Leuven (Brabant, near Brussels). I started to paint in my childhood. My grandfather as well as my father were both painters and they thaught me the basic skills. Although I started to paint with water colour (aquarelle), I finally fell in love with the oil paint.
