Theurgy Painting

Theurgy [1] is a surreal work about the black magic, theurgy, shamanic practices and actually about those primitive creative or destructive energies and relations in the world. We see two figures in black that dwell in the shadows creating a smaller human-like figure in yellow. The orange circle stands for the creative energy, the center around which the newly created being shall circulate, i.e its energetic charge, essence etc. [1] Theurgy (/ˈθiːɜːrdʒi/; from Greek θεουργία, Theourgia) describes the practice of rituals, sometimes seen as magical in nature, performed with the intention of invoking the action or evoking the presence of one or more gods, especially with the goal of uniting with the divine, achieving henosis, and perfecting oneself.
