This fun piece has been on my easel for over a year trying to find its beginning and ending point. During the course of the year, I have painted nearly every conceivable color combination trying to allow this piece to find me. Finally, I just needed to allow my paint brush the freedom to allow my inner muse to create this fun and magical piece. This triptych is framed as a single piece in a contemporary black lacquer floating frame. It is done with brilliant reds, blues, golds over a texture that is designed to crack and create a mosaic effect. When the painting was completed, it was covered with a high gloss resin which gives the image the illusion on being suspended.

Did you know?
The Muses were the nine Greek goddesses who presided over the arts (including music) and literature. A shrine to the Muses was called in Latin a museum. An artist or poet about to begin work would call on his particular Muse to inspire him, and a poem itself might begin with such a call; thus, Homer's Odyssey begins, "Sing to me of the man, Muse" (that is, of Odysseus). Today a muse may be one's special creative spirit, but some artists and writers have also chosen living human beings to serve as their muses.

A lifelong passion for painting has shaped my journey as an artist. Mostly self-taught, I decided to deepen my understanding and skills by pursuing a formal education. At the age of 69, I proudly graduated with a B.F.A. in Studio Art from the College of Charleston, marking a significant milestone in my artistic evolution. I am captivated by the dynamic nature of materials. Whether moving charcoal on paper, guiding oil paint with a brush, or molding clay by hand, the tactile interaction with these mediums is central to their creative process. Unlike traditional planners, I allow the artwork to unfold organically, with each stroke and form directing the next. This spontaneous approach reflects my belief that art is about process, color, form, and the materials themselves. Influenced by the philosophy that art reveals the unseen, I aim to offer viewers a personal, visceral experience. Inspired by Paul Klee's idea that art makes the invisible visible and Stella's assertion that "what you see is what it is," I invite each viewer to interpret my work uniquely, evoking a range of emotions from joy to discomfort. Embracing new technologies, I have integrated artificial intelligence into my practice. By feeding hundreds of images of my work into neural networks, they create new interpretations composed of countless fragments from previous pieces. This process embodies chaos and adventure, producing paintings that reflect the unpredictable nature of our world. These works are not meant to convey a specific message but to offer a raw, chaotic experience that mirrors life itself. Each of my pieces is a testament to my artistic philosophy: abandoning preconceived notions of what art should be and allowing each creation to define itself.
