About The Artwork
I started the painting Tibor in 2013 and finally finished it in 2015. Tibor Simon-Mazula is a Hungarian artist that I met in my Graduate schooling at the Academy of Art and I became very inspired by his paintings after seeing one of his solo shows in San Francisco. After becoming friends with him I asked if you would sit for a photo shoot so I could do a painting of him. After the photo shoot I quickly started the painting but was never satisfied with it. I put it away for over a year before I worked back into it, and finally finishing it the way I originally envisioned.
