The month of June, being Black Music Month, inspired this work. I hope viewers will be as festive and vibrant as the artist is when she performs in front of her audience. I chose the medium of mixed media due to its ease of hue blends. The subject matter represents proven excellence in black music. My style in this painting demonstrates the dynamics not only in the emotions and facial expressions of the artist but also in stage presence, as well.
