The full title of this painting is: WONDERFUL DAY OUTSIDE. BUT I STILL AM CHECKING MYSELF IN THE MIRROR. TODAY I HAVE THREE EYES. This painting is an abstract self-portrait. The chalk paint gives the painting a very flat/mat finish that transforms the textures and patterns into a quilt like view. The green background is an easy and direct reference to the greenery outside, with a subtle littler tone at the top left corner of the painting, for the sun that is shinning elsewhere. The standing figure (notice it stands in two "legs'), feels cozy and safe in its comfort zone. The three eyes (on the left) are just one of those random excuses we all create for self-doubt. Does the protagonist leaves the house? YES! She just needed to take a break. And it was sunny but cold outside!!! Eventually the third eye becomes as asset. She gets a new pair of glasses and gets out to get things done. Alternatively, you could read this painting as story of a Space Aliens hiding under a quilt, which you are welcome to do, if it pleases you better.
