ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Original oil and acrylic large abstract landscape painting on canvas stretched on a wooden frame. Pre-Appalachian landscape. This artwork is a vibrant, abstract landscape painting. It uses a thick impasto technique, with bold, textured strokes of paint that create a mosaic of colors and shapes. Predominant hues are various shades of green, blue, and yellow, which define fields, hills, and possibly a small village scene. The sky occupies the top portion of the painting and is filled with patches of blue and light purples, suggesting a dynamic and atmospheric depth. The style is expressive and contemporary, focusing more on the feeling and movement rather than realistic representation. Master-quality material has been used. Heavy impasto builds with brushes and pallet knives. Using oil over the acrylic technique allows for achieving the brightness of colors and richness of texture. Edges of the painting are covered with archival white linen tape for a clean contemporary look. No need for framing. It is ready to hang. Signed on the back. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. Please contact curator@saatchiart.com for more details.

" In general, my paintings are skirting the boundary line between representation and pure abstraction. Color, form, gesture, and physicality of paint - all of them are the subjects of main interest and great importance. Almost all paintings have been inspired by the landscape. Behind every abstract composition is a particular place in a particular time and in a specific atmospheric condition."
