About The Artwork
A portrait of well known Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei made up entirely of the Chinese character 困(trapped) and a big red star plastered over his mouth. But wait, look closer, there are actually two 囚(imprisonment) Chinese characters in the midst of it all - right in the pupil of the beholder. Characters written in Chinese Ink. Pastel background to create a prison wall like texture. Ultra thick red acrylic as the red star.
