Turtle Time Painting

A resident of Brighton I moved down here to escape from the relentless hustle and bustle of London. In search of a more relaxed and meaningful pace of life my artwork is intentionally simplistic and stripped back; a call for a return to the basics, both in life and art, reflected by bold blocks of colour and clearly defined lines. My work at times takes on a slightly child like quality, aiming to capture the foundations of the subject matter thus creating an innocent and pure aspect to my work. My work draws inspiration from the sea, a place which many people find calming and peaceful and which often leads to nostalgia for childhoods long gone by, in particular summer holidays spent playing by the seaside.
