ABOUT THE ARTWORK
As in some of my other works this piece is a celebration of my youth. I would spend many summers in Louisiana at my uncle and aunts ranch. The small ponds and rivers were dark and held the thought of dangerous creatures lurking below the surface. I hope that you can feel the excitement and maybe a little dread at what maybe just out of sight.

I was always interested in painting since I was a small boy watching my Great Grandmother paint and get her work ready to sell at the Starving Artist Shows. But time and life made me put down my brushes. Now in retirement I have rediscovered the joy in creating art.
