acrylic primer sealer, acrylic paint and pigments on unstretched 260gr/m2 cotton canvas

After seeing a painting of the artist Wade Guyton exhibited at the Sotheby's New York, I was driven to use an old xerox copy that I once found in a Copy Shop.
I was interested in creating a straight composition using a completely random image, with no particular narrative in mind.

Alexandre Liberato is a Portuguese visual artist based in Berlin whose work spans a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, photography, and video. He holds a degree in Architecture from the Technical University of Lisbon, 2005, and attended CREART - Artistic and Creative Research Labs in Barcelona, 2017. His work has been exhibited internationally in Berlin at KINDL - Center for Contemporary Art, Gallery Heike Arndt DK, Hošek Contemporary, 48 Stunden Neukölln Festival, and Projektraum 145; in Barcelona at Espacio 88; as well as at the Thessaloniki Queer Art Online Festival. In 2019, KONVENT.ZERO, Berga, Barcelona selected Alexandre for its artist-in-residence program. Alexandre Liberato’s project focuses on geometry, the body, and the creation of an abstract metaphysical space to contemplate the sublime- a sensibility that touches everyone equally, transforming them from the inside. The conscious emancipation he seeks in the entire spectrum of his work is not limited to LGBTQ+ people but aims to emancipate masculinity from toxic old ideas of the past.
