"Underwater Florist" is a captivating acrylic painting that beautifully merges fantasy and vibrant natural elements. This expansive artwork, measuring a total of 56 inches by 48 inches, is a celebration of whimsy and underwater wonder. The piece is divided into three distinct panels - two that are 12 inches by 48 inches and a central piece that is 30 inches by 48 inches, collectively forming a striking triptych. In this enchanting scene, a mermaid is depicted gracefully navigating the underwater realm, carefully selecting coral bouquets. The vibrant colors and intricate details transport the viewer to an aquatic world where nature and fantasy intertwine seamlessly. The mermaid's serene and purposeful demeanor amidst the colorful coral arrangements enhances the sense of tranquility and wonder in the underwater setting. The triptych format of this artwork is particularly unique, creating a comprehensive and immersive visual experience. Each panel complements the other, yet they each stand strong with individual significance and beauty. This structural choice allows for a dynamic viewing experience, as the eye is invited to travel across the panels, discovering new details and nuances in every section. Whether displayed in a personal collection or an exhibit, "Underwater Florist" offers a delightful escape into a world where the beauty of the ocean and the imagination of myth come together in a harmonious, visually stunning composition.

“As an artist, I strive to continually grow and experiment with different techniques and mediums. I have spent most of my careers as an art director and graphic designer (30 years), professional photographer (15 years) and for the last decade, painter. Composition, creative problem solving and working with deadlines became ingrained after three decades as a designer. I hold a BS degree in fine & applied arts from San Diego State University. Having these experiences have affected how my photographic images are framed in the camera and on canvas, my understanding of light on objects from directing studio photographers and exploring the possibilities of artistic post production. I find that tinting, adding layers & borders, and digital painting made a unique statement. In my paintings now, the wealth of experiences have shaped how I approach a canvas and work through the stages of analyzing, experimenting, and creating . The challenges of painting have given me a passion about creating that I intend to continue as long as I can. Sailing and exploring the ocean was a big part of my early years in California. Hence, most of my paintings are related to ocean and beach landscapes. My seascapes, tropical scenes, underwater landscapes, mermaids, and abstract paintings are directly the result from my love of the sea. In my freestanding art studio at home, I listen to music, study and work on my canvases without technology interferring. It is a very joyful place where I am free to create from my imagination and also a good diversion from the technology of my photographic business. I feel so fortunate to be making a living doing what I love. ”
