'After the Rain 1' was created during the summer in the fresh air under shade in preparation for my solo show in Vancouver – 'ColourPlay'. This was one of my large pieces. It looked luminous on the tall white walls. It is wired and ready to hang. Has a simple elegant white 'floating' resin frame [which means that the edges of the painted canvas can be partially seen from the side as there is a 3/8" gap ]. At first glance these abstracts [this and After the Rain 2] are remenicent of Monet's Waterlilies, but that was not my intention. As with all my works, they come together organically and with every layer a new dimension emerges, until I am done. These are more abstract in nature, but certainly I see a pond. A place. A time. A calming. Within the painting there are countless miniature scenes that draw my eyes further into the painting.

A note about the framing, which is included in the price, it adds 1.75" to all sides of the artwork.
Enjoy! Valerie Capewell

Delivery Time:

Art and Design are part insight, part inspiration, and a lot – of invention. In my studio, accidents happen, and that moves my work forward. It is always exciting to watch work take on a life of its own. I begin with the end in mind, and always land in a different place. I work hard to develop original works – avoiding trends and following the direction of the work – in the moment. My colourful works reflect my love of colour, and design. Works are held in private and public collections worldwide.
