Visual Artist and Designer | Exploring Color and Motion through Abstract Organic Minimalism and Digital Art I've always been attracted to belle arts, architecture, the lives of artists and I've been drawing and painting since I can remember. During my doctoral studies at the University of Art in Cluj (2013-2017), I discovered a closer understanding of purist philosophy and the simplicity of abstract art through the works of Mondrian, Malevich, and Kandinsky (the pioneers of abstract art), with whom I resonate in a special way. Inspired by several architects and designers of the 20th-21st century such as Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, Mies van der Rohe, as well as painters like Rene Magritte, Mark Rothko, and Yayoi Kusama, I shape a minimalist, personal neo-modern style that is less oriented towards rigorously exact, geometric, sharp or straight forms (such as Mondrian or Malevich), but rather towards natural, fluid, energetic, or harmonious organics, closer to the works of Juan Miro, Hadid, and Kusama. I always find multiple conceptual interpretations around the same subject interesting. Various levels of reading art pieces create depth and content through reflection. Some of my works linger on the idea of space representing modern loneliness, others delve into how aquatic and marine imagery symbolizes the depth of the soul, the subconscious mind and the unexplored aspects of the self. Most of the times, the protagonist of my works is color itself. Organic shapes inspired by the structure of rocks, tree bark or roots, aquatic relief, karstic or desertic landscapes, etc. animals and people (in short, shapes inspired by nature) constitute a strong preference in my art. Also, I consider that my main sources of inspiration leave a significant mark on my style and the subjects addressed in my paintings: Mondrian, Malevich, and Kandinsky, on the one hand; pop culture with its sci-fi movies, nature documentaries, action-sports competitions, macro photography and graphic design, on the other. In conclusion, my approach to painting can be described as a neomodern, minimalist-organic style, occasionally nuanced with symbolic elements.
