"Running away is easy. It's the living that's hard." These are lyrics from "Time Moves Slow" by BADBADNOTGOOD, sung by Samuel T. Herring. As I completed my studies at Portland State University, I faced an imagined future of insecurity, lack, and desperation. The dread I felt over the November 2016 presidential election fueled a lot of my painting around this time, and I felt lost and targeted, and all I wanted was to hide away. To curl up and disappear. Neut King lives in Berkeley, California. Their transdisciplinary work deals with questions surrounding the loosely defined term "human nature" amid themes of crisis unique to the 20th and 21st centuries. In 2016 they received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art Practices from Portland State University.
