About The Artwork
There are only 6 works from the series: dragons. The idea to create works with dragons came about a year ago. I've been thinking for a long time about how to embody it and about symbolisms, so that it would be as interesting and deep as possible. In Turkey, I came across a book that describes textiles from Asian countries, including China: There was a lot of information about dragon symbols from different dynasties. Inspired by the book last year, I promised myself to start the series as soon as possible and forgot. And now the year 2024 is coming: the year of the dragon, and I thought it was a good sign to bring the series to life. Please, have a look at the work with the pink background and the red dragon-cat and the flowers at the bottom: She guards the moon. The dragon-cat symbolizes the feminine principle: after all, the Moon is a female planet. It is no coincidence that a bush with peonies grows under the tail of the dragon. This character is as kind and playful as possible with a flexible and sometimes has a changeable mood, like all ladies.
