“Urban Beach.” an attempt to create the feeling of sand, water, beach wood, and the cool breeze represented by white and grey. With this information the name begins to make sense or possibly create sense. The “Urban” more or less reflects the environments it will be displayed in. This is a painting that has specific meaning to spark certain feelings and memories of summer, feeling at peace, and an overall sense of wellbeing presented through minimalism and abstraction. I choose to use acrylic because it tends to dry quickly and can provide a sort of "stretched" out look. I framed this painting myself with a pine moulding then applied a dark stain to it. Thanks for checking out "Urban Beach."

I was born in Alberta, Canada in 1999 I'm twenty years old currently living in a small town in British Columbia, Canada. I create unique, modern architecture inspired artwork. My art is mainly based off of moods; depression, happiness and the overall feeling of "grey". I'm heavily inspired by architecture, the curves, the hard lines and the colours. The way modern architecture stands strong with the strength represented through broad, square structure is extremely influential in my works. Turning a utilitarian style of architecture into something abstract is what I try to emulate through acrylics. I want to approach abstract art with a new angle, less splatter and more hard edges and a "cold" feeling radiating off of the canvas. Acrylic is my favourite medium, it dries quickly, and it can "spread" and stretch and give somewhat of a grain against the canvas. I don't necessarily see my own art as beautiful, because it is something that I see everyday. A work of art is usually a by product of my life, my frustration, my happiness, my mood. My paintings come naturally, when you purchase a painting you are purchasing a part of me.
