Born in NY, renowned artist Micci Cohan is best known for her exuberant, expressive palette and incredible range of styles. Her paintings celebrating vibrant worlds splashed with the color of innocent glamour and unbridled sensuality have been a fixture on the New York art scene since the late 1980s. Her work evokes a unique timelessness transcending current trends or categorizations. The kaleidoscope of impressions, shared with the audience is fused together from various world cultures, pop culture, music, fashion, art history. Since graduating from Parsons School of Design, Cohan’s art has acquired a devoted following of collectors and buyers that span the globe. Her art has been exhibited at venues such as Fusion Arts Museum, 532 Gallery, Thomas Jaeckel, Ward-Nasse Gallery, and ADA Gallery, and also have been auctioned off alongside American and European Artists including Calder, Haring and Miro. She has been featured in publications such as, The Art in America Annual Guide to Galleries, Museums and Artists edition and Art forum’s Best of 2011 edition,The International Contemporary Artists Vol II and featured in the NY Arts Magazine, Vol. 14. As a freelancer,Cohan has been commissioned to do illustrations and portraits by notable clients among them, the prestigious Jean Cocteau Repertory Theater, a New York City theater institution, the band, Salt Cathedral and the British musician,Clay.
