My wife sometimes wears this black, velvet robe which is a luxurious item that seems to demand one wears nothing else with it. Naturally, it's become one of my favorite items of clothing for her. Standing in front of a dark background, the robe edges disappear and the woman seems to be stepping out of blackness. "Velvet Robe" is painted in the traditional style of chiaroscuro. It is gallery wrapped without any staples or tacks in the side, so the painting can hang with or without a frame.
