Catherine Maddens is a French abstract painter based in Paris. Her saturated color fields explore vibrations, movement, and inner landscapes. After 28 years as a graphic designer, she has devoted herself to abstract painting since 2012, developing a distinctive dialogue around color between ammonia drips, aerosol expansions, and gestural marks. She is influenced by nature, neuroscience, and artistic movements such as Abstract Expressionism, Color Field, and Support/Surface. She draws inspiration from artists such as Frank Bowling, Megan Rooney, Pat Steir, and Katharina Grosse. Her work has been curated by Saatchi Art (Fall 2024 Collection) and is held in private collections in France, Europe, Australia, and Switzerland.
