Osvaldo Mara is an Architect and professional Interior Designer graduated at the Official Universidad de la Republica in his home country: Uruguay. He draws and paints since he can remember; that's why he never hesitated he would study architecture. Being a student he worked as a draftsman in Architecture and Interior Design Studios while he painted and designed ceramic pottery to help finance his career. By that time Osvaldo also designed furniture, lighting devices and upholstery pieces for several companies. Finally when graduated he founded his own Architecture and Design Office in association with Arch. Alejandro Paroli and ID Enrique Kogan. He is a founding member and former president of ADDIP, the Uruguayan Association of Professional Interior Designers as well as delegate and current liaison to IFI , the International Federation of Interior Architects for the Congresses of Amsterdam, Chicago and Bergen. Osvaldo also published and directed Escala, an Interior Design, Art and Architecture Magazine and has written different articles about the Interior Design profession in specialized local Publications. He has been teacher at ORT University as well as lecturer at Bios and UDE Universities and is responsible for the direction of different Seminars and post-graduate Workshops for Interior Designers. Being a specialist in designing interior spaces, Mara started painting in large formats in 2009 for specific clientelle. His powerful brushtrokes and his defying bet for color attracted public's attention. His works rapidly appeared in corporate and private residences. Hotels, Office and Residential buildings as well as private collectors from Uruguay, Argentina and the US have begun to choose Osvaldo Mara's expressive innovative paintings.
