About The Artwork

Vincent #1366 (Open Sea) This work is part of the series of paintings created as part of the collection “The Other Avatars.” You can find this and all my other paintings from this collection at Open Sea. In this collection, Saatchi Art has selected an exclusive group of 154 artists from 34 different countries to reinterpret Van Gogh's mythical self-portraits. Of course this NFT collection has those typical traits of the Avatars (PFP). I’m really excited with the result because I had to come up with a totally original technique for this collection. Basically because my intention was at all times to respect the codes of the PFP, making that all Van Gogh's portraits have the same dimensions and the same distinctive characteristics, but with some minor adaptations of style and colors. For this I used my usual techniques and added the printing technique. The process was the following: first I painted the elements all separately, and scanned and digitalized everything on PC. I edited each avatar in Photoshop. I printed them on canvas and mounted them on new frames, and finally I repainted each work. While the original process for this collection required much more work than any traditional painting due to the amount of intermediate steps, I committed myself to maintain the original price for paintings of the same size (100x100 cm). Finally, if you haven’t seen my collection “Decentralization”, you might want to check it out. Also, I invite you to read my Manifesto where I share my view on Crypto, Bitcoin and the Blockchain Boom. ⬇️ --- Complete collection in Open Sea:[sortAscending]=true&search[sortBy]=PRICE&search[stringTraits][0][name]=Artist%20Name&search[stringTraits][0][values][0]=Diego%20Tirigall --- This NFT in Open Sea:

Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1976 and currently based in Vigo (Spain), Diego Tirigall comes from a family of antique dealers and art restorers. Growing up in that environment, Tirigall developed a deep admiration and respect for a variety of art forms. A self-taught professional, Tirigall started his career designing motion graphics for television, film and advertising. After creating designs for print-on-demand companies, Tirigall subsequently licensed exclusive pieces for companies specializing in wall art. True to his experimental approach, Tirigall has found a unique signature style, combining techniques, mixed media and materials from neo Expressionism, art brut and street art. Tirigall uses text, shapes and drawings scrawled with expressive brushstrokes in primary colors as he sarcastically depicts fragmented pop culture ideas. Pablo Picasso, Antoni Tàpies and Jean-Michel Basquiat are among his greatest influences.
