ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I’m inspired by many artists, including Agnes Martin, Sean Scully and Brice Marden. In my works I attempt to have the viewer engage actively in a curious dialogue between the past and the future of painting. It is a veritable link between the origins of pure abstraction in modernism and the more Conceptual formats of painting in the postmodern age. I use acrylic, acrylic mediums and various texture tools to create layers upon layers, where previous layers show through, creating layers for quiet reflection.
