ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This road appeared before us suddenly, around a bend, in the middle of a bush. We would never have found it if we had not noticed the hare running into it, its funny petiole disappearing into the foliage. And yet it was there, narrow at first, then wider, mysterious and dark. And yet we followed her. The birds sang reassuringly. After some time we came across a clearing surrounded by tall poplars, and in the middle of it, a stream flowing into a small, cool lake. It was here. It was here, forty years ago, that all the things the neighbors had told me happened. Looking into the dark waters of the lake, it was not hard to believe ... What else could they hide, what secrets to keep. However, when we stood there, our desire to discover them disappeared, it would be a violation of this almost sacred peace.

I am a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. My work is "bipolar": figurative and abstract. Both ways complement each other and inspire. Although seemingly they seem to be completely separate, they "nourish" my work, not letting myself burn out. Their common part is color and a reference to dreams, in which nothing is impossible, and parallel worlds permeate. My art is my way to enjoy the world, its beauty and share it with people. In my abstract works, I consider each painting as a separate world, a separate reality that I discover and explore. I like to use forms and shapes associated with nature. Forms similar to leaves, boats, stones, scales. Contours of known reality in an unknown world. I observe their interactions among forms and colors. They float in them and define this world, organize, or allow this world to define it. .ed.xii
