ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In 1996 they gave me an arch in Hungerford Bridge for the summer and I painted the view from Waterloo Bridge. The Eurostar train terminal was not long open and gleaming new luggage trolleys were scattered about the area. I bolted an old roof rack to one of them and wheeled four panels onto the bridge with my paint, brushes and easel. With a walkman and good weather I painted this view in about 5 weeks, taking a couple of hours daily on each panel. The painting has toured galleries and semi public spaces over the last 20 years and is now up for sale.
