This painting belongs to a series titled Perennial Winter. When I created the painting the weather was very cold and wet, and had been this way for weeks. Outside my studio water was pooling everywhere. This painting is about the sensation of looking back at that moment of dilemma, when you are faced with making a decision about which way to go to avoid getting your feet wet.
