This work depicts an intimate and contemporary scene, illustrated with remarkable technical mastery and exquisite sensitivity. The image depicts a young woman, seated on a large sofa covered with soft, draped fabrics. She is immersed in a modern activity: the use of a laptop, a contemporary version of "the e-reader". The artist succeeds in capturing a moment of everyday life while transfiguring it through a subtle play of colors and textures. The dominant shades of blue, white, and beige create a serene and soothing atmosphere, while the energetic paint dabs and drops seem to flow across the canvas, adding dynamics and movement to the scene. The light is treated with great finesse, illuminating the young woman's face and the folds of the fabric, giving the whole an almost ethereal quality. Every detail attests to careful observation and precise intention: the natural pose of the woman, focused on her screen, the background suggested by curtains in fluid and translucent colors, and the lush sofa that seems to be a metaphor for comfort and tranquility. The juxtaposition of the contemporary activity – working or playing on a computer – with the almost dreamlike setting, creates a striking contrast and invites the viewer to reflect on the nature of time and modernity. In short, this work of art is not content to depict an ordinary scene; It transcends the ordinary to offer a visual reflection on everyday life, enhanced by impeccable technique and aesthetics.

Born in Courrières in the North of France, I share my time between the North of France and Paris which inspires me many urban scenes including café terraces. I have always used oil paint because slow drying suits my technique better. I work in series by inspiring my surrounding, places I go to, objects I own and stage. In the series "Réflexions sur le temps qui passe", I treat the cars and Vespa in the manner of the "vanities" of the past by perforating the bodies, rusting them, thus translating the time that passes and which reduces to few things once prestigious vehicles. The parallel is obvious with our own existence. In the still lifes séries, I stage objects with a preference for metal and glass and using a palette of coloured grey and nuanced white so as to have a contemporary touch. In the series "Mes petites Nanas", I interpret scenes, situations, by putting in scene my daughter who is used to me as model (The comedy of the feelings, or the works on the small girls). Finally, the urban landscapes are inspired, as I said earlier, by my numerous stays in Paris where I live part of the year.
