About The Artwork
Based on series of photos of dogs at Cherry Beach dog park, Lake Ontario. This dog was chasing down a stick so was singularly determined in his task. I was particularly interested in the sheen of his coat and the shadow at what was close to high noon. This provided the western art or cowboy art flavour I was going for.

I usually pursue a particular theme for several years running or until the question/investigation has run its course. Currently I'm focused on dogs and fish. My background in sculpture informs the way I think about constructing or building a painting- placing figures together in postures of my choosing.
