ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is the largest oil painting I have completed in my years as an artist. I quite love this piece and was in a wonderful stage of life when it burst forth onto canvas. It took 3 months to complete and has many layers of paste, impasto and cold wax giving it a deep depth and in some cases translucency that gives the sky and light a warm glow. This piece would be stunning a large wall - its 4ft by 5ft. I call it Westward because I was getting ready to uplift my life for love and move Westward....

I am a Cree Artist living in Toronto, Ontario. Former Art Gallery owner in Toronto I paint full-time now in my home studio in Eastern Toronto. My influences are Turner and Caspar. I predominantly paint in the styles of Romanticism, Abstract and Abstract Expressionism. I prefer oils but do occasionally produce works in Acrylic. I am currently going thru an phase of multi-media focus with elements such as gold and copper leaf finding their way into some of my large pieces.
