The war in Ukraine has been going for almost a year. Living here, it is impossible don't feel that. I hear and see it in everything that surrounds me. It is my first painting in 2023 year. What does that mean? Mostly, my reativity brings positive emotions. However, a beginning of the art year I wanted to start with the feelings associated with the war. I have remembered a famous painting of Vinsent van Gogh "Wheatfield with Crows" - a masterpiece, which he painted at the dusk of life. I looked at that and decided to interpret in its own way. Blue and yellow are favourite colours of Vinsent, a wheatfield and a blue sky- it's a Ukrainian flag. These colours mean a freedom in the whole civilized world. But now they can be pale, the war erases the brightness of colours . Black crows represent the spirit of death. The number of victims from the attacks of the Russian army, fighting at the front. Now the military protects peace and freedom at the cost of their lives. Every day we live is their merit.I remember always about it. This picture became significant to me. Each smear is like one person who is part of the big picture. Will we do what is necessary, so that tomorrow there is a bright peaceful blue sky and sunny yellow fields of wheat around?
