About The Artwork
‘When Autumn Comes Around’ is an abstract of the earthen coloured season and that is what is depicted in a way, with warming browns and leafy reds. Every season has its importance, also its beauty and one of the beauties I see in it, is the colours against the surrounding greys. It is a season of in between the warmth to the cold and I concentrated on the cosy hues for a homely gathering mood. The painting was done in acrylic paint on gallery wrapped stretched canvas and is painted in burnt umber right around the sides. My markings and signature are all on the rear of the painting to make it a little more versatile for hanging on the wall, either vertical or horizontal. Also, no framing is required.

Jason is a painter and illustrator of various styles and different media for different ends. Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
