Where Have The Others Gone Painting

The idea of painting a tree originated in my master’s art class. It was the theme for us to expand upon. Affecting our environment, the importance of trees in our daily lives, etc. I very intentionally painted one; indicating the eradication of natural forestry and flowering for pollination. It is all about the effects of climate change and the harm we are inflicting on all nature. The under part of the tree is dark, intimating death, shadows and lack of rejuvenation. On the ground are leaves that have fallen off and are withering. This piece, while minimalistic, is a strong statement about our planet.
