About The Artwork

The subject of the artwork is "walking back", representing a superstition. My choice to represent this theme is influenced by my own childhood experiences that led me to restrict certain actions that, for me, were not relevant. The fact that I took these superstitions into account had, on the contrary, the effect of making things worse for me. In the painting, I represented my shoe, which seems to be leaving but also turning back from its path. The superstition that returning from a journey brings bad luck is also present in folklore. According to tradition, it is said that it is not good to turn back on your path because your entire day will go wrong. You will only have troubles, and nothing will go as you wish. It is advisable to consider this superstition, especially on days when you have important matters to attend to, need to take an exam, or engage in any activity that could influence your future. Similarly, if your shoelace is untied when leaving home, it announces bad luck or failure in what you intend to do. If you tie the shoelace of another person, you should think about a wish. The artwork can be seen as advice against putting too much faith in certain rumors, urging one to think twice about the contemplated action. It might be viewed somewhat ironically, but not with ignorance.

A primary reason why I chose the world of art was the opportunity to visualize the world we live in through a different lens and explore various perspectives. It's about admiring the world despite the challenges an artist faces at the beginning of their journey. The goal is to captivate a diverse audience with ideas that can resonate with people from all walks of life, opening their eyes to new approaches and fostering a broader appreciation for art. I chose the path of art, setting aside sports, to illustrate my own world, addressing certain ironic situations that surround us at every step, such as superstitions. For these, I have created a collection of paintings inspired by the works of the famous surrealist artist Rene Magritte.
