Date of birth – 1966/11/10. Ukraine. Mykolayiv city. Valerii Kaplia was born in a family of artists and continued art dynasty. He is an Ukrainian artist known for his own unusual style mixed of different art directions, like surrealism and hyperrealism, with deep attention to the illustrated plot, which reflects different subjects referring to the complexity of people’s relationship. His way as artist started after finishing art school in 1981. He became part of big team in art advertising agency of USSR in 1983. Experienced colleagues and team of professional artists made an impression on him and his worldview. Valerii decided to continue his art way and from 1987 to 1992 he studied in South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, the Faculty of arts and graphics. During this time, he started to find his own direction in art and created his first surrealism artwork. It was the entry point and after one year, since 1991 he started taking part in various Ukrainian exhibitions. In 1993 he was a teacher in Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts and took part in Exhibition of the university teachers in the museum named after Vereshagin. To continue his further art growth and get new opportunities artist moved to another Ukrainian city - Odessa. Here, since 1994 he continued his art activity, tried himself in different art styles, created big amount of artworks. Lots of people appreciated art, so the artist was overloaded with orders for some time. In 2016 Valerii decided to create solo exhibition with his impressive collection of artworks in art gallery “Gardens of Victory” in Odessa. After the opening he was prompted to take part in another exhibition - “Modern Ukrainian Surrealism” in Kyiv, Ukraine (2016). Valerii was also invited to the exhibition in Germany. So he presented his art in the city Bad Nauheim in 2017. During the 2018-2019 artist continued cooperation with art gallery “Gardens of Victory” and had several exhibitions. In 2020 he took part in a solo exhibition in art gallery #ARTODESSA and gave an interview for media. Valerii’s artworks have been collected by people worldwide, including the following countries: USA, Australia, Luxembourg, Peru, etc. Valerii is happily married more than 30 years. His wife is also an artist, who made a great impact on his own art style. Valerii is also has son, who continues art dynasty as architect and designer.
