ABOUT THE ARTWORK

From ancient times the lotus has been a divine symbol in Asian traditions representing the virtues of sexual purity and non-attachment. In Chinese culture Confucian scholar Zhou Dunyi wrote: I love the lotus because while growing from mud, it is unstained. The lotus represents purity of the body, speech, and mind as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire. White lotus flower is especially clean and elegant. The purity of white lotus flower cannot be compared by other flower. Symbols of authenticity Standard will be legal name signature seal and signature included in the painting. Every painting will be customized for you. So I can include more sentence in the painting, including the annotation and two more seals - my artistic name seal and free seal. Those are free of charge. The annotation contains Chinese Lunar year and artist real name in writing - Each painting is customized. The annotation will be changed based on the painting completion date. Condition: What to expect an Original Chinese Painting The painting is not mounted or framed. The painting is in excellent condition but I need to let you know below fact to avoid any misunderstanding: The painting will be folded and securely sealed in water proofed protection. Because of the thinness of Shuan Paper, when you open the package, you will see some folds and hairline creases. Once the painting is mounted properly, the fold lines will be gone completely.

These paintings peaked out between the Tang and Song Dynasties (7th to 13th centuries) when these refined paintings were endorsed and collected by the royal families of China. The gongbi artists to perfect this style must totally commit themselves to these techniques. Only the wealthy could afford such artists. This style of art was accomplished in secret in royal palaces and private homes. Peony The peony is among the longest-used flowers in Eastern culture and is one of the smallest living creature national emblems in China. Along with the plum blossom, it is a traditional floral symbol of China, where the peony is called 牡丹 (mǔdān). It is also known as 富贵花 (fùguìhuā) "flower of riches and honor" or 花王 (huawang) "king of the flowers", and is used symbolically in Chinese art. In 1903, the Qing Dynasty declared the peony as the national flower.
