ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Mykola Kozlovsky is a Ukrainian contemporary artist who works in non-figurative painting. shipped rolled in a tube for cost efficiency and expedited delivery Decorative composition on the theme of living nature, created on two canvases, diptych. I started working on the painting last year when I was walking in the wild nature of my native village. and found willow stumps that attracted attention with their whimsy and strange shape. Then he painted several sketches that eventually served as the material for this painting. The form of the painting is selected and decorative in the spirit of cubism.Old stumps as a symbol of reincarnation, rebirth, decay of form - rotting of an old tree that will become food for various plants. This cyclical life of all living organisms is the basis of life on earth. The butterfly at the top of the picture is a symbol of time in space. Materials: canvas, oil, varnish. Mykola Kozlovsky is a Ukrainian contemporary artist who works in non-figurative painting. Born in 1994 in Stupnytsia village, Lviv region. Now lives and works in Lviv, Ukraine. Art education: icon painter, religious painting. Admiring the landscape from nature. I like to use the principle of three-stage painting in a modern way I was born and raised in a small, beautiful village, surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. That's why I mostly paint landscapes in nature. The basis of my art is a harmonious composition, this is a common feature of any painting: from the Renaissance to abstraction. Color has the main importance in my art, I do not copy the colors of nature, but combine colors harmoniously as in nature. I rarely mix colors mechanically, but mix optically, or use pure color. The main source of inspiration for me is sunlight and forms of nature. My abstraction is based on the constant movement and change of matter in space and time. For example: a tree grows from a seed, grows under the influence of sunlight, ground, gravity, air, the tree becomes a whimsical, unpredictable shape This tree is a sign of its time. Then the tree dries up and dies, and becomes food for new plants that will go through the same cycle. This is the fate of all living things. I often observe this in nature, and it is the basis of my abstract perception. And that's why I believe that for me the form is the main thing and the content is secondary. And that's why I consider my paintings close to abstraction, but not pure abstraction. I draw on paper, cardboard, canvas; I use pencils, markers, acrylic, oil. I often combine acrylic and oil.
