Jenny Toft is a contemporary painter investigating memory, attachment, and psychological inheritance through processes of layering and material disruption. Following a 15-year international commercial practice, she completed an MA in Fine Art at Arts University Plymouth (2024). Paralleling her studio work, Toft restores 20th-century buildings—a structural preservation process central to her methods of surface excavation and canvas erosion. Her current series, The Flesh That Binds Us, marks a critical contemporary pivot toward bodily inscription. Recent institutional recognition includes the John Chambers Prize.
