Wishing Well Painting

"Wishing Well" On A Personal Note: "I have always had a powerful imagination and spend a lot of time alone as a child. I grew up in a financially strapped household with conservation tactics before "being green" about the environment and more about saving the pocketbook. We saved money on electricity, water, groceries, you name it, and my father always had a way to save a few bucks. He was born during the Great Depression, and both my parents were raised extremely poor, so the fear of going without shelter, food, and shoes was very real to both of them. And they instilled some of these things in me. One of the things I remember was not turning the lights on during the day; looking back on childhood; it's pretty sweet how going without made my imagination soar. Having a flashlight always available to me, I would go into the closet and play; sitting with my stuffed animal friends in the dark forest of my mother's clothes was delightful. The mixture of the darkness and the swirling light of my flashlight and her beautiful flowing pink gowns made me think of a wishing well, with countless wishes and magical spells dancing in the air. I loved doing this and spent many a day wishing upon my imagination that would take me away to the most beautiful of places where there were seas of flowers that were brushed by millions upon millions of butterflies." - Gracein
