ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Growing up in Texas, I spent much of my late teens and early adulthood enjoying country music, going to chili cook offs and rodeos. Urban Cowboy was the top movie and many people were dressing the part. Now with the popularity of the Yellowstone series, people are fascinated with the cowboy (or cowgirl) lifestyle again. I thought pop art cowgirls would be something fun to paint. I've tried to include something tactile or 3D on the canvas for added interest. This gal has a real leather headband on her hat and texture on her bandana.

I am a self taught artist. I started painting seriously in 2016. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I spent several years living part time in Los Cabos, Mexico. Today I divide my time between Houston and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Until 2012, I worked for several years doing graphic design for our privately owned software company. My artwork is often a reflection of myself or of my dear friends. The women have a feminine quality, sensuality and glamour. Some of the work are reflections of the past, feelings of love and loss. Each one contains part of me in them.
