About The Artwork
Work on Commission: customer asked for the yin and yang sign, mixed with parts of him and parts of her (his partner). This was a gift present for their anniversary. After knowing a bit more about them, I started to assemble shapes within the yin and yang, to keep it all together. Being in a relationship is putting blocks on top of other blocks in order to build something that alone, we would not be able to build. I wanted to make that effect. As you may be able to discern, inside the yin and yang, we have a heart shape; half in yin, half is yang. Stitching marks are part of his past because it was rough, and he is still patching himself up at times. But he is solely living around her. She loves the sea, she is outgoing, she is the sunshine, life. She is busy. Lines in the background connect, like roads, like life. If you look closely, you may see wings in the background, it is there, without being there... because, if angels are among us, we do not see their wings.
