'Your Spirit Lives On' Painting

I received a plant as a gift in memory of my sister who died in 4/2020 from the Covid 19. In memory of her and her spirit I recreated this plant as a painting, which becomes as a work of art a continuation of her life, and the energy and vitality she once possessed. The composition shows the diversity and personality of its leaves as a rich foliage of contrast, those richly in bloom, strong, vibrant and others which are in the natural life cycle of transformation. I enjoyed the painterly, sketchy quality of creating the leaf forms, and focusing on the broad spectrum of greens, their natural structures, designs, directions and tactile textures.
